ARTE
Y COLOR (Art and Color)
- principal photography completed in 1997:
Mexico is renown for its colorful folk and fine arts traditions.
Mexican-Americans too have developed a name for themselves in the art world.
The Yaqui silversmiths of Arizona, the Santero woodcarvers and traditional
potters of New Mexico all have roots in Spanish and pre-Columbian culture. Arte Y Color will look at the history of these three art forms and document
three contemporary artists: Danny Romero, Charlie Carrillo and Debbie Carrillo
working in the New Mexico.
